Hoi An to Hanoi 9 July Maverick scribed by Lucy

Squaark! It's me again, as always the amazing, incredible, Maverick the kakapo! Today is the last day here at Hoian and we are walking over to our friend Na's restaurant to have breakfast. James had pancakes, Sam had a chicken sandwich and Toni, John and Lucy had bread and pineapple jam. Chomp, slurp, crunch then the breakfast magically disappears.

After breakfast we hopped in a taxi and went to board our plane. This is something that all airports need to know: some people boarding your planes have deadlines for when they get off so please announce early on if the plane is going to be delayed, so we can organise something. In other words, our plane was late and we needed to go to the Chinese embassy as soon as we got off the plane to get our Chinese visas.

I will not curse all planes because, we are flying on more planes at a later date. Wings are much more reliable. So instead of cursing the planes, I told all the flying birds there are to drop massive bombs on the planes we're not flying on. I really should stop blabbing and tell you what went on today...

When we finally hopped on our plane we were about 1/2 an hour delayed! Then, when we tried to get some yummy kakapo-safe snacks (everything that isn't broccoli, spinach, Brussels sprouts and meat or fish) when the flight hostesses said that there were only two packets of Oreo things left on the whole entire plane! So, that flight wasn't any good, now we are at the air port getting in a taxi and hoping that the Chinese embassy was still open. The embassy was closed. Because of that, we decided to go to our hotel.

The hotel we were meant to be staying in was full. Never trust dodgy travel agents on air b&b. We then decided to go hotel hunting... First hotel: no success. Second and third hotels: still no success. Time for a food break. Lucy had an avocado and bacon baguette though, the avocado was spicy. John had a B.L.T baguette and everyone else had burgers. While having lunch, John was looking for a hotel for us to stay in and he found one! The hotel had a four bedroom place and a swimming pool. Defiantly enough space for this kakapo! So after lunch we hopped in a taxi and went to find the hotel.

The hotel was just as we suspected: amazing. We all got our own room and Lucy's room had the wifi in it. We all settled in then decided to go shopping. We got some food. Bread, milo, yogurt, jam and some dinner things. We went back to the hotel and then went swimming in the pool. Did I mention this was a really big pool? I guess not. Anyway, John cooked a dinner of sausages and mash. The mash was yummy. James and Lucy had coconut ice cream for dessert. We watched some TV then it was time for sleep.

I guess that this is the end of this blog, and I'll see you later.*

Squaark!
